Since hairdressers reopened, we’ve seen celebrities like Molly-Mae Hague, Chloe Ferry and Vicky Pattison all ditching their lengthy locks for shorter, chicer styles – and now Love Island’s Ellie Brown has followed suit.

The reality star, who featured on season four of the ITV2 dating competition, was known on the show for her waist-length blonde tresses – but she’s now opted for a short crop instead.

Posting to her Instagram stories, the star gave fans a sneak peak behind her transformation at the James Lear salon in Manchester, where the stylist is seen chopping off Ellie’s Rapunzel-style locks on camera.

The Newcastle-born beauty later returns to her stories, showing off her new shoulder-length style in a brighter, lighter shade of blonde.

Ellie’s new bouncy crop is giving us major 90s vibes, with the ends of her hair flicked inwards to resemble a retro style.

While the star is yet to post a selfie with her new hair to her Instagram feed, James Lear shared its own post-appointment snap.

“Butter blonde bob,” they write in the caption.

“@brown.elle wanted to go shorter like her natural length and work on growing the natural hair back to health,” they add.

The salon describes how they were aiming for a “super bright golden blonde,” and how they love “how much golden hair enhances golden tones in the skin”.

To achieve the buttery blonde shade, Ellie’s hair was packed with highlights near the roots and around the face for a flattering look.

While Ellie’s hair is a lot shorter than her usual style, James Lear reveals that she is still wearing tape extensions to add thickness and length around the front of her hair.

The makeover went down a treat with the salon’s followers, who flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts.

“Hair goals,” one person writes.

“I want this,” another says.

One hairdresser agreed with the salon about favouring a golden blonde shade over the ashy hues that many people ask for these days.

“I love a clean golden blonde too. I wish my clients would stop asking for so much ASH,” they write in the comment section.
