KANGHYUK Recycles Industrial Conglomerate Hyosung's Waste for Unexpected Collaoration

Building on its established upcycling aesthetic, KANGHYUK has partnered with one of South Korea’s largest industrial conglomerates Hyosung on an unexpected collaboration. The duo has come together utilizing Hyosung’s waste materials to craft a special collection of striking sustainable skiwear.

The recycled materials provided exclusively for KANGHYUK comes from airbags (enough to make around 700 jackets) that could not be used due to sizing issues. The repurposed textile has been transformed into a collection that reimagines skiwear codes for all genders marked by a unique tinge. Aside from the outerwear and ski pants focus, warm inner pieces and gloves serve to tie looks together cohesively through the futuristic functional outlook.

Accenting the tone of the material are barcode printing details, sliced elements, blue stitching hardware and velcro, extending strapping, adjustable toggles and buttoned tabs. Rounding up the design of the collection is Hyosung’s logo expressed on rubberized badges placed prominently.

Additionally, KANGHYUK has also taken the opportunity to tease a mid-cut take on its Reebok Premier Road Modern collaborative model in a fitting light blue colorway.

Check out the lookbook above for the Hyosung x KANGHYUK skiwear collection which will be available for pre-order from May 17-31 on KANGHYUK’s website, with items shipping from October 27.
