K-pop star Yohan of boyband TST dies aged 28

K-pop star Yohan has died aged 28.

KJ Music Entertainment confirmed on 16 June that the TST member has passed away.

A statement from the agency read: ‘Hello, this is TST’s agency KJ Music Entertainment. We have come to tell everyone very sad and heartbreaking news.

‘TST member Yohan passed away on June 16.

‘The bereaved family is in great sadness. We sincerely ask the media to refrain from spreading rumours and speculation on Yohan’s cause of death.

‘We would like to send our deepest condolences to Yohan as goes on.

His cause of death is reportedly being kept private at the request of his family.

Yohan first debuted in 2015 with the group NOM.

However, after that group disbanded, Yohan joined TST, also known as Top Secret, in 2017, alongside Ain, K, Wooyoung, Junghoon and Yonghyun, as well as Kyeongha, who left the group in 2018 following allegations of sexual assault.

TST gained popularity throughout their career with the singles She, Mind Control, Love Story, Paradise and Wake Up.

The six-piece had released their fourth single album, Countdown, in January this year.

The group had heavily promoted the album, and took part in V Lives to chat to fans.

TST had been promoting as a four-piece due to K enlisting in the military and Wooyoung resting due to health issues.

According to Soompi, Yohan’s wake is being held at Severance Hospital in Sinchon.

He will be laid to rest at a cemetery in Yongin on 18 June.

Yohan celebrated his 28th birthday on 16 April, and posted a smiling picture of himself holding a birthday cake to mark the day.
