In 2008, the chef opened his first restaurant Jamie’s Italian in Oxford. The chain went into administration last year.

At its peak, there were 42 restaurants in the UK, all of which are now closed.

His TED Talk won him the 2010 TED Prize and in 2003, he was awarded a Member of the Order of The British Empire.

Other streams of income for Jamie include being the public face of the supermarket chain Sainsbury’s from 2000.

This deal earned him an estimated £1.2million every year and by 2004, the company had 65 advertisements with him.

In 2016, Jamie and meal kit subscription service HelloFresh announced a partnership to incorporate his recipes into the weekly subscription deliveries.
