The high-roller landed their first success in the staying two-mile handicap at 3.05.

Nightly Wailing – a 9-2 shot – got the punter off to a flyer winning by just shy of a length.

In the very next race, the well-fancied Sister Rosetta snuck home by a short head for trainer Ger Lyons.

The 2-1 jolly just held on from the fast finishing runner-up.

There was an agonising wait until the next leg at 5.20 with the punter again siding with trainer Ger Lyons.

His Aikido was again well-backed into the 15-8 favourite.

And the punter was cheering all the way to the bank as Aikido held on by the skin of his teeth to land the jackpot.

Paddy Power's Paul Binfield said: "One Irish punter, who seems to be a bit of a Ger Lyons fan with the last two legs of his treble trained by the Meath magician, would have had smiling eyes after watching events unfold at the East coast riviera venue on Monday.

"Saying that they probably had a slight fright, to say the least, when Stay Safe came with a late rattle in the last leg, but Aikido held on by a fag paper.

"And if they cooked a celebratory stew yesterday evening, it may well have contained champagne or caviar or even both."
