Inside Kate Ferdinands life with Rio from lavish home to candid baby struggles

Kate Ferdinand and her husband Rio share the most incredible family home in Kent. The couple often share insights into their family life on their Instagram accounts.

The former reality TV personality, 29, became step mum to Rio’s children and quickly moved into their amazing home back in 2017.

Last year, the former Towie star shared the exciting news that she and husband Rio Ferdinand were expecting their first child together. Their son, Cree, was born just before Christmas last year, a few months after the couple tied the knot.

When they announced the pregnancy, they shared a sweet video of them revealing the news to Rio’s children from his marriage to late wife Rebecca, Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, eight.

Kate appears to have a good relationship with her three step children, with them recently pranking her on Instagram.

When Kate posted to Instagram explaining that she was stuck in traffic and asked her 1.4 million followers to ask her questions, which she would then answer on her Instagram stories, her step children decided to play a prank on her.

Having previously shared that her baby son Cree wasn’t sleeping well, she got a question claiming to be from a fan about how Cree was sleeping. They said: “Please a shout out… I’m a massive fan. I hope baby Cree slept well.”

Kate instantly realised that one of the kids were messing with her and so she responded with: “Go and do your homework” and then explained that this message was from one of the kids and explained that everyone is “on the wind up constantly”.

Kate recently explained that her step children also ‘poke fun at her’ about her reality TV past and her time on Towie. She explained that, if a clip of her on Towie comes up on TV, her step children start laughing and tease her mercilessly about it.

Kate told The Sun: “Every now and then a clip will come up of me on the TV and the kids will start laughing and be like, ‘Oh my God, that is not you!’”.

The reality TV beauty chose to leave Towie in 2017 to focus on family life with former footballer Rio and his children. Since leaving her role on TV, Kate’s life has changed dramatically.

She told The Sun: “I never saw myself here, of course. Life throws you in crazy directions and I do believe I am here for a reason”.

She also gushed: “I am so grateful I met Rio and the children and that our lives are as they are now. But it is crazy to look back and see where I was and where I am now.”

When they first moved in together – two years after Rebecca's death – Kate and Rio opened up about their new life together in a documentary for the BBC, called ‘Rio and Kate: Becoming a Step Family. In the documentary Kate explained how she had struggled with her new role at times.

She later admitted that it was the documentary that saved her and her now husband’s relationship, as the pair had been going through a tricky time before filming began.

Rio’s older children have always been supportive of the couple’s relationship. Recently, Kate hit out at fans after some hurtful comments were posted online about how Kate may love her son Cree more than her three step-children.

She claimed that the suggestion was extremely ‘offensive’. Explaining to her 1.4 million fans that she had been asked a lot about this previously. However, Kate said that she loved all four of the children equally and that wouldn’t change.

She commented on her post, “People ask me this a lot, and I can only speak for myself as every is different…”

“I love all four children equally and I will never see any difference between my biological and non biological children.”

She added that, “Lorenz, Tate and Tia taught me what it feels like to love a child way before I had Cree”.

The couple started a fitness YouTube channel and are often seen exercising together. The pair spend a lot of time in the gym together, staying in shape thanks to their incredible home gym, complete with a vast array of fitness machines and weights.
