Graham Norton claims the ghost of his next-door neighbour visited him while he was sleeping naked.
The chat show host was “freaked out” after the spook put the willies up him.
Graham, 57, said: “I did have a thing years ago when I was renting a room in a house in Brixton.
“It was a very hot summer night and the guy who owned the house was away. I woke up in the middle of the night and the lady who lived next door was at the end of the bed.
“I knew she had keys but I thought ‘Oh my god that’s weird’ so I said hello to her. She didn’t say anything. I thought she must be sleepwalking.
“I wasn’t sleeping with any clothes on so I put my duvet over me as I thought she might be embarrassed.
“Then she moved towards the door. In between the door and chair, there was a gap and she went to the gap and sat down where there was no chair.
“When she got to sitting she vanished. She didn’t disappear, like ‘boom’ – she was just kind of floaty. That was when I was really freaked out and imagined the stairwell was full of ghouls.
“I found out later the woman next door had been incredibly ill that night and nearly died in her house.”
The paranormal encounter was still not enough to convince Graham that ghosts exist.
Speaking at the London Palladium at the launch of his new book, Home Stretch, he added: “I think it’s rubbish, even though it happened to me I am rolling my eyes as I tell it.”

Meanwhile, he revealed he is relieved the Graham Norton Show, which returned on Friday, is back to normal after he hosted a lockdown version.
He explained: “It was awful then it got OK and we got used to it by the end.
“The bits you didn’t see was the guests not being able to turn the mic on then assistants in hazmat suits coming in and poking things. It was a trial for everybody.
“It’s exciting to be back in a TV studio with actual people and see half their face.”
