Chef Gordon Ramsay has plenty of pennies in his pocket from his chain of Michelin star restaurants and TV series like Kitchen Nightmares.

Thanks to social media, the foul-mouthed millionaire restaurateur has a wallet as hot as Hell’s Kitchen, racking up to a whopping £25,000 per sponsored Instagram post.

The 53 year old is one of the most followed food influencers on Instagram with a staggering 9.8 million fans seeing his snaps each day.

But what do his culinary rivals earn per sponsored post according to Money.co.uk.?

  • Jamie Oliver has 8.3 million followers, earning about £21.6k
  • Nigella Lawson has just 2.2 million followers, earning about £5.79k
  • Paul Hollywood has only 346,000 followers and earns just over £600
  • Rick Stein has about 77,000 followers and earns about £400
  • Marco Pierre White has 188,000 followers and earns about £700

He's the third wealthiest chef in the UK, too, with a net worth of £171m. Go, Gordon!

On Instagram, the chef updates us all on his many Gordon Ramsay restaurants, delicious eats and even cute pictures of his youngest son, 18-month-old Oscar James, who is the spitting image of his dad.

When lockdown restrictions eased in the summer, Gordon took Oscar to work with him to re-open his restaurant in the capital. He may be little but with the Ramsay gene, Oscar could be a future sous chef.

We amateurs are not so safe from Gordon’s scathing reviews. The chef delights in watching and weighing in on our efforts to make his classic recipes, and posting them for his followers to enjoy.

Gordon recently took to Instagram to gush over son Jack as the 20 year old joined the Royal Marines. The chef posted a picture of Jack in full uniform, saying it had made him the “proudest father”.

Father-of-five Gordon lived on a council estate in Stratford-upon-Avon and struggled with his violent, alcoholic dad before finding his passion – and fortune – in cooking. Recently named the UK’s hardest working chef, Gordon has 15 casual and fine dining restaurants in London and seven Michelin stars across the globe. He’s a big hit in America, too, whipping tired old eateries (and their managers) into shape on TV.

Soon Gordon will be back on British telly with another series of Hell’s Kitchen, and we can’t wait to see the poor chefs squirm. Gordon fronted the show on ITV back in 2004, but didn’t return to the later series which aired until 2009.

His National Geographic show Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted is a lot more laid back, exploring indigenous tribes, their food and culture. There are some shocks, too, as the chef was seen to kill and eat a swap rat in Louisiana – lovely!
