B&M is holding a huge indoor furniture sale over the bank holiday and shoppers can get 10% off armchairs, tables and more.
The discount retailer said it “rarely” holds sales, so you might want to make the most of the lower prices if you need new bits for your home.
But it’s a flash bank holiday sale though so you’d better act quick – it starts from today (April 30) and ends on Monday, May 3.
B&M said only indoor furniture is included in the offer, and we spotted that you could save up to £25 depending on what the item is.
For example, this king size Dreamcom Superior Memory Foam Mattress had £25 knocked off the original price tag, down from £250 to £225.
Meanwhile, this set of two gold tables is £45 – down from £50 – in the sale, which means you’d save £5.
A fiver has also been taken off this chest of four drawers in black – it's now £45, down from £50.
The 10% discount doesn't work out to be as great a saving on some items though.
This shelving unit on wheels is £27, down from £30, which means you only get a few quid off.
All items are subject to availability, so not everything you see online might be in stores.
It’s best to check ahead with your local branch to check if they have what you want in stock to save yourself a wasted trip.
How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you – so don't be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
Here are some that we recommend:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
- Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
- Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
- CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
You can find out where your nearest B&M store is using the shop’s online store locator tool.
However, make sure to compare prices elsewhere before you splash your cash.
You might find that the same or similar item you want is cheaper in another shop.
For example, even though this pink velvet chair in B&M has been reduced to £90 down from £100 in the sale, TK Maxx is selling a very similar version for £70 – £20 cheaper.
This pink bar stool was £35 but is now £31.50 in the sale at B&M.
But this similar-looking bar stool from Argos that’s pink too is slightly cheaper at just under £30.
B&M isn’t the only retailer that’s flogging furniture favourites at low prices.
Very is having a big bank holiday sale that will run up until May 6 and some furniture is included in the offer.
We saw that you could get a two-seater sofa for £319 instead of £529, saving you £210.
You can also pick up discount outdoor furniture with slashed prices from B&M, like a patio set the retailer is selling for £70 that was £100.
Here's a run-down of where you can buy the least expensive hanging egg chairs for your home right now.
It's not just the homeware retailers that are slashing prices, Boots has a major 70% off sale on right now.
