Andrea’s love for Ed Sheeran is well known, but he also has a soft spot for another chart-busting male solo star. While fans wait eagerly for the Italian singer to unveil his own music, he treated them to a beautiful acoustic ballad at the piano. The budding pop star sang a tender and romantic version of Bieber’s 2020 chart smash Holy. Scroll down to watch the full video.

Matteo has spoken openly of his desire to sing together with Ed Sheeran and was instrumental in setting his father Andrea’s duet with the British singer, but perhaps he is also hoping to collaborate with another superstar.

The Italian tagged Bieber twice in his short message to accompany the new video.

He wrote: “Holy (Acoustic) by @justinbieber. The first time I heard this song I fell in love with it on the spot. Here’s my version of “Holy” (Acoustic) by @justinbieber I hope you like it too…”

Holy was the lead single from Bieber’s fifth studio album, Changes, which he said marks a new “era” in his music.

The song is inspired by the stars love for his wife Hailey and his devout faith and hit Number 3 on the US charts last year.

The original version also includes a rap section from Chance The Rapper.

Unsurprisingly, Andrea’s interpretation does not feature any rap, but it is a perfect fit with his own romantic vocal stylings.

The 23-year-old has also been building up the anticipation for his own long-awaited solo material, most recently promising fans a very “special surprise” last week.
