This weekend, sees the first of two bank holidays in May, with Britons looking forwards to a three day weekend. Bank holidays give the chance to take time with friends and family, have barbecues and enjoy time away from work.

The second May bank holiday comes at the end of the month, on Monday, May 31.

If you’re finding the need to head to the shops this weekend, some shops may have different opening hours due to the bank holiday.

This means your local supermarket may be closing earlier than usual.

Aldi bank holiday opening hours

Aldi stores will be open as usual during the bank holiday weekend.

Writing on their website Aldi said: “Planning a great Bank Holiday weekend?

“Don’t worry, your local Aldi will be open to help you make sure you’ve got everything you need.

“Our UK opening times are below, Scotland opening hours may vary.”

Aldi bank holiday opening times:

  • Saturday, May 1: 8am – 10pm
  • Sunday, May 2: 10am – 4pm
  • Monday, May 3: 8am – 8pm

Aldi has some delicious deals this bank holiday, especially for those looking to cook up a storm on the BBQ.

The supermarket is selling Specially Selected British Wagyu Burgers perfect for your bank holiday barbecue.

The gourmet Wagyu beef steak is considered to be one of the most expensive and tastiest in the world, with high-end restaurants charging up to a whopping $5,000 a burger!

Aldi shoppers can get two premium quality, British Wagyu patties for a burgerlicious bargain of £3.29 (340g).

These are available in store from Thursday, April 29, while stocks last.

And for those looking forward to having a drink or two this bank holiday, Aldi also has an award-winning prosecco on sale.

Shoppers can get Aldi’s Costellore Prosecco Spumante DOC for just £4.99.
