Will Smith Ends Nearly 30 Year Feud With ‘Fresh Prince’ Original Aunt Viv Actress Janet Hubert

Will Smith and Janet Hubert are seemingly putting some drama to bed after nearly 30 years.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum posted pictures from the Banks family mansion set for an unscripted reunion special set to air on HBO Max later this year on Thursday (September 10).

“Today (Thursday) is exactly 30 YEARS since The @FreshPrince of Bel-Air debuted! So we’re doin’ something for y’all… a for real Banks Family Reunion is comin’ soon to @HBOmax! RIP James,” he wrote. (James Avery played uncle Philip Banks, and died in 2013.)

Fans noticed that he and Janet, who played the original Aunt Vivian on the show before being replaced by Daphne Reid, were laughing together in a photo, which is a surprise.

Almost a decade ago, Janet told TMZ there would “never” be a reunion, calling Will an “a–hole” and an “egomaniac,” and “this constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word,” reportedly blaming him for her premature departure from the show in 1993.

It seems they’ve patched things up based on the photos, and Janet even reposted the pictures.

“Reunited and it feels so good!” she wrote, adding in the hashtags that God spoke to her, and she’s “#freeatlast.”

The two sat down on Wednesday (September 10) according to HBO for an “emotional reunion and a candid conversation,” which even came as a surprise to the cast. Find out more about the reunion special!
