Kristen Stewart has endured a rocky road to happiness when it comes to her romantic life. She was infamously linked to Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson for years, only for the relationship to be spectacularly confirmed in 2012 by the actress herself when photos surfaced of Stewart cheating on Pattinson with a married man — who also happened to be her Snow White & The Huntsman director — Rupert Sanders. She apologized at the time, saying in a statement to People, “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
Pattinson and Stewart broke up for good in 2013. A few years later, Stewart confessed to being “so gay, dude” while hosting SNL in 2015 (via YouTube), and since then, the Happiest Season actress has been linked to several high-profile ladies, including model Stella Maxwell (via Hollywood Life).
Recently, though, the indie star appears to have settled down with current lady Dylan Meyer, with whom she’s been involved with since 2019. In celebration of Stewart’s 30th birthday, in April 2020, the screenwriter made their relationship Instagram official with a post dedicated to her “favorite person,” enthusing she was “wishing everyone the volume of beautiful feeling I feel toward her.” Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar UK in 2019, the Charlie’s Angels star admitted she’d been encouraged to hide her bisexuality to get jobs previously, but now Stewart is intent on proudly living her truth.
The Twilight star has finally found her person
A source confirmed to E! early on in August 2019 that Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer were crazy about each other, noting, “Kristen isn’t holding back at all and loves being with her.” Stewart seemed to confirm as much during a subsequent interview with Howard Stern, when the actress admitted she couldn’t wait to propose to her lady. “I want to be somewhat reasonable about it, but I think good things happen fast,” she revealed (via YouTube). The couple reportedly met while working on a movie together, with Stewart explaining to Stern they later crossed paths at a mutual friend’s party. Things moved quickly, with them expressing their love. “There is nothing like falling in love with someone,” Meyer gushed on Twitter at the time.
For Stewart’s 31st birthday, Meyer took to Instagram again to share another sweet message in her honor. Alongside a shot of the actress sitting with their dog, the screenwriter wrote, “Life sure is sweeter with this cute little family. Happy birthday, kiddo. You knock my socks off.” The Twilight star notably keeps her private life under wraps and doesn’t have any social media accounts of her own, though she frequently pops up on Meyer’s, giving a sweet glimpse into their home life together. Speaking to InStyle in 2020, Stewart described herself as “cagey,” noting she doesn’t “like giving myself to the public.” However, the actress acknowledged her responsibility to the LGBTQ community and is trying to be more open going forward.
