Van Morrison is planning to take legal action against regulations that ban live music in indoor venues in Northern Ireland as part of Covid-19 safety concerns.
Northern Ireland is currently under full lockdown due to surge in coronavirus cases, with the government expected to extend the current “stay home” rules into March.
According to Rolling Stone, Sarah Symington, an attorney at the firm John J. Rice and Co. Solicitors, which is representing Morrison, said the singer has filed a “pre-action protocol letter” with the Department of Health “challenging the blanket ban on live music [and] giving them 21 days to respond.”
The 75-year-old musician has been against pandemic lockdown measures for months now.
