Tiffany Haddish Says Grammys Wouldn't Pay Her for Hosting 2021 Pre-Show AND Expected Her to Pay for Glam

Tiffany Haddish just revealed to Variety that she was asked to host the 2021 Grammys pre-show—which would have been amazing! But unfortunately, the Grammys didn’t offer to compensate her for the show (sorry, the THREE HOUR show), and on top of that they expected her to pay for her own glam and wardrobe.

Interim Recording Academy president and CEO Harvey Mason Jr. posted a response on Instagram, apologizing and saying he felt there was a lapse in judgement on the part of the Grammys talent booker.

“To me, that was wrong,” he said. “I’m frustrated by that decision. It was a lapse in judgement, it was in poor taste and it was disrespectful to the creative community. I’m part of the creative community. I know what that feels like, and it’s not right.”

He added, “I apologized to her personally and I apologized to her from the Academy. I expressed to her my regret and displeasure of how this went down and how it was handled.”

Hopefully the Grammys will fairly compensate whoever does host the pre-show!
