Tayshia Adams Takes Over For Clare Crawley, Begins Filming For The Bachelorette!

Well, pretty much nothing has gone according to plan in 2020.

So why should the upcoming season of The Bachelorette be any different?

As you’ve probably heard by now, Clare Crawley’s season was postponed by the coronavirus, and this year’s contestants won’t be doing any of the usual globetrotting, as the entire production will remain in a quarantine bubble.

And that’s just the beginning of the upheaval.

Clare didn’t last very long once filming finally got underway, but it wasn’t because of any health issue.

No, it seems the 39-year-old bowed out of the competition after falling so madly in love with one of her suitors that she just couldn’t bring herself to go through the motions with a bunch of runners-up.

These days, Clare is happily dating Dale Moss after the shortest Bachelorette tenure in the show’s history.

Fortunately, producers were equipped with a plan-B.

“The producers have told her that the season will still lead with Clare and her short-lived journey and will show Clare falling in love with one of her suitors,” a production source recently told E! News.

Clare will then conclude her journey and announce that Tayshia is the lead.

That’s a surprising twist — but when you think about it, it’s almost equally surprising that this has never happened before.

After all, the ultimate goal of the show is for two people to find love, right?

You’d think that for every Peter Weber who couldn’t make up his mind until a month after filming wrapped, there would be a Clare who settled on Mr. Right before the first rose ceremony.

Anyway, we wish Clare and Dale all the best, and we’re sure it’ll be a joy to see them immediately go gaga for each other.

But fans might have been a little bitter if, after a much longer wait than usual between new episodes, they were forced to deal with a radically truncated season.

Fortunately, Tayshia Adams was waiting in the wings and fully prepared to take over.

Until this week, it was just a rumor that Tayshia would take over for Clare, but now, multiple media outlets have confirmed that Tayshia has been spotted on set, filming with the guys who are competing to win her heart.

According to Cosmo, Tayshia was “looking gorg in a blue bikini and white sarong.”

So Tayshia’s season is officially underway, and believe it or not, producers are still gunning for a September premiere date.

Equally shocking is the fact that Tayshia will still shoot “hometown” dates, as the families of her final four contestants will be flown out to LA and quarantined at the same La Quinta Resort as the rest of the cast.

“’Bachelorette’ (Tayshia) filming IS bringing family/friends of contestants to the La Quinta Spa and Resort, & they are being quarantined and tested before appearing,” Reality Steve tweeted this week.

It’s anyone’s guess how the logistics of that will play out.

Will there be a quarantine hiatus after Tayshia picks her final four, or will producers fly out, like, the final eight families and send half home with consolation prizes?

Either way, we could wind up with a trainwreck that will make Peter Weber’s season look neat and orderly by comparison.
