Ruth Langsford steps in to help Lucy Alexander as she talks feeling low in tough time

Former Homes Under The Hammer presenter Lucy Alexander, 51, said Ruth Langsford, 61, had gifted her with a jacket and encouraged her to go to the gym as she revealed she had been feeling down this week. The property expert told fans the This Morning presenter knew how to make her smile during tough times.

In view of her 48,000 followers, Lucy shared a selfie sporting a khaki bomber jacket.

As part of a lengthy caption, she began by revealing she had “the laziest Sunday ever” due to the poor weather.

The property expert went on to say: “Trying on a few of my new outfits for indoor lunches happening this week.

“I miss so many people & cannot wait to re-connect with them.

“Ohhh to hug our friends & loved ones again that we’ve not seen.”

She went on to say: “My mate @ruthlangsford cheered me up this week when I was feeling low… she encouraged me to rejoin my gym AND gifted me this amazing bomber jacket from her Ruth Langsford range @qvc what a babe.

“She knows how to make me smile,” she added.

The ex Homes Under The Hammer star said she was planning to get into her gym kit tomorrow to kickstart her new routine.

“Very nervous but excited to get bit of my old life back,” she continued.

Ruth flocked to Lucy’s post, writing: “Yes Lucy! You know you’ll love the gym once you get back into it Pleased you love your jacket.”

The pair have supported each other during recent difficult times.

In 2019, Lucy reached out to Ruth following the loss of her sister Julia.

The latter died following a long battle with depression.

Alongside a picture of her with her sister, Ruth wrote on Instagram: “My lovely Sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness.

“My heart is completely broken. “he was the kindest and most gentle soul and I will miss her forever.

“As I am sure you will appreciate I need to take time to grieve with my family. Thank you for your understanding.”

Lucy replied: “A truly kind loving and beautiful person. Julia will be hugely missed.”

During a recent episode of Loose Women, the panellist said she felt guilty returning to work soon after her death.

She explained that work was a good way of dealing with her grief, but admitted she felt bad laughing again.

“It’s strange, that first time you do anything where you want to laugh or you’re required to laugh, where you’re required to look like you’re having fun, there’s almost a guilty feeling,” she admitted.

“Like, should I be enjoying my life again so soon?”
