Rod Stewart and wife Penny Lancaster pictured after returning to UK from Florida home

Sir Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster were snapped at their Essex home yesterday after returning to the UK almost two weeks ago.

The couple and their two sons, Alastair, 14, and Aiden, nine, were seen showing support for the Nation Health Service and key workers outside their UK property on Thursday evening during the weekly Clap For Our Carers, after flying in to the country from America.

Up until recently, the family had been self-isolating in Florida with Rod’s older children Sean, 39, and Ruby, 32, from previous relationships.

In pictures published by the Mailonline, Rod, 75, could be seen clapping in a pair of bright red trousers and a warm jacket.

He was joined by his wife of 12 years Penny, their two sons and Rod’s daughter Renee, 27.

The family have been back in the UK for at least a week as they also took part in the national round of applause at their Essex property last Thursday.

Former model Penny, 49, shared a snap on her Instagram Stories of Rod with Alastair and Aiden shortly after 8pm.

Alongside the picture, which showed the trio banging pots and pans, she wrote: “Thank you NHS.”

According to an Instagram post from Rod’s daughter Ruby, which was shared with her 29,500 followers three days ago, the family left their “trip” a fortnight ago.

Sharing a beautiful picture of them all on the beach by their Florida residence, she wrote: “We left this trip two weeks ago as a stronger family than when we entered and I am so proud of us.”

The musician said the image captured “natural joy” in all of their faces.

Images showed her dogs Lily and Bubbles sitting by her side and then exploring the great outdoors.

A short video showing her pooches running past a little under cover bench surrounded by greenery was captioned: “Favorite resting place come rain or come shine.”

Other snaps, next to the words “tree appreciation” captured the beautiful nature that surrounded her.
