Olivia Jade Giannulli is the definition of “new year, new me.” Saying 2020 was not her best year would be quite an understatement. Her family’s involvement in the college admissions scandal was the controversy everyone was talking about. Her mom, Lori Loughlin, was accused of engaging in a scam to get her children into prestigious universities and was sentenced to serve two months in federal prison. She was recently released and apparently, Olivia Jade is doing great.
“2021 let’s just keep the vibes good, k?” she captioned a video and photo of her dancing with friends. Olivia Jade recently broke her silence on the scandal during an episode of Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk in December.

Olivia Jade revealed that she didn’t speak to either of her parents when they were in prison. But, before they went away, her family “definitely did” talk about what they did. Her conversation with Jada, Willow Smith, and Adrienne Banfield-Norris focused on white privilege, with Adrienne pointing out that she thinks Olivia Jade will be okay post-scandal.
Olivia Jade even admitted to not understanding that what her family did to get her into USC was wrong. “I was like, ‘Why is everybody complaining?'” she said. “That’s embarrassing within itself, that I walked around my whole 20 years of life not realizing, ‘You have insane privilege. You’re like the poster child of white privilege. You had no idea.'”
Well, it seems like she has an idea now, and is trying to move on and do better.
