Nick Cordero’s Wife Claims He Lost His Muscles Amid Ongoing COVID-19 Battle

During a Q and A session with fans, Amanda Kloots gives the latest update on the ‘Rock of Ages’ actor’s condition, revealing that he has lost 65 pounds during his time in the intensive care unit.

AceShowbizNick Cordero has lost 65 lbs during his time in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to his wife Amanda Kloots.

The “Rock of Ages” actor has been hospitalized since March, when he was placed in a medically-induced coma and subsequently had to have his leg amputated and a temporary pacemaker fitted after encountering a multitude of complications in his battle against COVID-19.

He has since also suffered two mini-strokes and a lung infection, among other issues, and in a new post to fans on Instagram fitness guru Amanda revealed the star has lost 65 lbs during the illness.

During a Q&A on Thursday, June 18, she shared that, during the 78 days Nick had been in hospital, his weight had plummeted, explaining, “What’s so heartbreaking is that he’s so weak that he still can’t move and his muscles are definitely atrophying.”

When asked by one fan if putting weight back on was a “priority” for doctors, in regards to Cordero’s recovery, Amanda said it wasn’t as simple as just gaining pounds back.

“It is really hard because what Nick has lost his muscle,” Amanda said. “You can’t really gain your muscle back until you can move. So they have him on some high protein, high calorie food, but he’s got to move.”

She went on to share one major concern for the doctors is getting Nick’s blood pressure under control, as the fluctuations “might mean he has an infection.”

The next step, she revealed, will be “intermittent dialysis,” and the actor’s wife said he’s “getting a transfusion right now,” to hopefully help with the doctor’s efforts to control blood pressure.

Kloots also told followers that the star can’t talk right now “because of the ventilator,” and because he’s too weak to move, but he “can answer yes or no questions with his eyes,” she shared, stressing, “He is awake and he’s in there.”
