Melanie Chisholm, also known as Mel C, 47, has candidly addressed the relationship amongst the members of the legendary pop band Spice Girls. The stars sent fans into a frenzy in 2019 when they reunited for a tour – which Victoria Beckham did not join.

Now Mel C has explained where she and her bandmates – Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria – stand with one another in their personal lives.

She told this week’s OK! Magazine: “We’re in the best place ever.

“We have more respect for each other than ever before, we’re all mums and we all know each other so well.”

Mel’s claims come after one of the popular band members suffered a heartbreaking loss this year.

Last month, Geri Horner was reportedly left “devastated” over the death of her older brother.

Her sibling, Max Halliwell, is said to have died after suddenly collapsing at his home aged 54.

A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesperson confirmed the incident in a statement.

They said: “Police were called at 9.40am on Wednesday 17 November to report the concern for welfare of a man at a residential property in Berkhamsted.

“Officers, along with the East of England Ambulance Service, attended the scene.

“The man was located and taken to hospital for treatment, where he sadly later died.

“His death is being treated as non-suspicious and will be referred to the coroner.”

A source told The Sun Geri was “utterly broken” by the death of her brother.

The insider said: “It has been a terribly traumatic time since the moment she heard Max had been taken to hospital, and the worst outcome which everybody close to the family hoped might not be.

“They are all rallying together but she barely knows what to say or think just now – she loved him dearly.”

At the time, a spokesman for the Spice Girls star called for privacy for the pop star and her family.

He said: “As you can imagine this is a difficult time and we would ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time.”

Max appeared on her Piers Morgan’s Life Stories episode in 2010.

He said of his sister: “Young Geri was always wanting to be the centre of attention.

“I think Geri doted heavily on her father.

“Maybe because of the attention that my father gave her as regards to her potential.”
