Meghan Markle claims there were 'concerns' over how dark Archie's skin colour would be by a member of the Royal family

In her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle claimed that there were conversations regarding the colour of her son Archie's skin.

The Duchess of Sussex, who has been supported by her famous friends amid bullying allegations, told the chat show host that there were "concerns" over the colour of her son's skin within the Royal Family, but she refused to name the person who said it.

The 39 year old said: "In those months when I was pregnant, we had in tandem the conversations of him not being given security or a title, and also concerns about how dark his skin might be when he's born.

"They didn't want him to be a prince or princess, not knowing what the gender would be, which would be different from protocol, and that he wasn't going to receive security."

Oprah, 67, enquired for more details, but Meghan refused to name the royal member who made the comments, saying it would be "very damaging to them."

Elsewhere in the interview that aired in the US, the soon-to-be mum-of-two admitted she felt suicidal during her time in the Royal family.

During the candid conversation, Meghan said she went to "the institution" for help over how she was feeling, but was denied help.

She admitted she felt "ashamed" to speak about her suicidal thoughts at the time but "knew that if she didn't say it she would do it."

The former actress claims she asked one of the "most senior" people if she could get any help but was told "it wouldn't be good for the institution."

She also added she "couldn't be left alone" during her pregnancy with first child Archie, revealing it was "a real and frightening constant thought" but she had her husband Harry, 36, to support her as he "cradled" her.

Meghan, who was defended by former Suits co-star Patrick J Adams, shared she spent an appearance at the Cirque du Soleil premiere in London in January 2019 "weeping" whenever the lights went down in the royal box.
