Strictly Come Dancing 2020 contestant Maisie Smith, 19, has been pictured speaking to police as she made her way to the show’s studio on Thursday. The Tiffany Butcher star is said to have driven her white Volkswagen Golf around a roundabout too fast.

A source told The Sun: “Maisie was told to be more careful next time given it’s so dark and wet out there at the moment.

“It was more of a friendly reminder than a serious reprimand and no further action is being taken.”

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Maisie for comment.

Further pictures show a policeman writing something down in his notebook while her Strictly co-stars made their way into the studio.

News of Maisie’s interaction with the police comes after she was announced as a finalist on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing tonight.

The EastEnders actress will fight for the Glitterball trophy next week with her dance partner Gorka Marquez.

Taking to her Instagram page this evening, she shared a picture of the dancing duo with the caption: “Still can’t get over how incredible last night was.

“Both dances were so special to me and I’m FOREVER grateful to you all for giving us a place in the finals.

Many of Maisie’s 961,000 followers flocked to her post to comment.

Strictly pro Amy Dowden wrote: “Well done lovely.”

Earlier this week, Gorka revealed they had been training up until midnight in a bid to get their two dances right.
