Homes Under The Hammer’s Lucy Alexander took to Instagram last week to give fans an update on her makeover project. The property expert decided to enlist the help of a capable tradesmen following the relaxation of lockdown restrictions and unveiled the results online.

Lucy posted several pictures of her beautiful home on social media, in view of her 44,400 followers.

She transformed a room in her home, which boasted stunning paneling on the walls and a built in storage unit, into an elegant and contemporary space.

The 50-year-old television presenter told fans she had updated the “drab” dark brown units with “crisp white woodwork”.

The BBC star reassured fans that “safety measures” were taken and asked her followers if they were planning to let workmen into their own homes.

She asked: “Now government guidelines have relaxed, are you happy to have workmen in your home?”

Her next post revealed: “Safety measures taken to let my painter into my home to finish off my panelling that he could do so much better.”(sic)

Alongside her snaps which showcased the light and airy interior, Lucy wrote: “Crisp white woodwork.

“Drab dark brown units now freshly painted skandi white. And new knobs fitted.”

Sharing a picture of the finished room, she wrote: “Job done,” before adding: “Now I just need pictures, mirrors, and to add some colour to my room.”

Yesterday, Lucy, who regularly documents her home and work life on social media, told fans she was making a trip to home furnishing store Ikea.

Over three hours later, the television host showed off her shopping goods and bargains, after finding some gems in the sale section.

She posted a video showing the contents of her shopping trolly, presumably to dress her newly painted room, which was overflowing with items.

Lucy captioned the short clip: “Purchases… 3.5 hours later [laughing emoji].”
