Hip-hop star Lizzo bought lunch for emergency room staff across several hospitals to show her appreciation for all their efforts during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The “Truth Hurts” singer sent lunch to the ER staff at a number of hospitals, including the University of Washington School of Medicine and the University of Minnesota Medical Center.
In a video message shared by the University of Washington, Lizzo thanked the emergency room workers “from the bottom of my heart and all of the hearts of the world.”
“Shout out to all of y’all for being so brave and working so hard, making sure that we’re safe and healthy and healing people,” Lizzo said in the video. “That is incredible. You guys are heroes. And so the least I could do was send you some lunch.”
“Thank you @Lizzo for sending lunches to the UW Medical Center – Montlake Emergency Department today!” the UW School of medicine tweeted. “Your support of our frontline healthcare workers means a lot.”
