Kate Middleton and her daughter Princess Charlotte looked identical as they posed at the King's Coronation, and not just because they were wearing matching outfits.
The Princess of Wales, 41, and Princess Charlotte, 8, were photographed looking back over their left shoulder as they pulled the same serious facial expression.
The similarity was pointed out by royal fans, as one person tweeted the two photos side by side and wrote: “The parallel between Princess Charlotte and her mum the Princess of Wales today!”.
One royal fan commented on the comparison and said: “The epitome of a real life beautiful princess and future Queen”, while another said: “Like mother like daughter”.
Another sweet fan commented: “I adore Princess Charlotte, her composure for her age! she's such a credit to the Prince and Princess of Wales”.
The mother-daughter duo looked adorable for the historic occasion in matching designer ivory dresses as they attended the Coronation earlier today.
Kate’s dress incorporated rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock motifs, which represent England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland respectively.
Princess Charlotte matched her mother's style by also wearing an Ivory Alexander McQueen dress, featuring rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock motifs.
Over Kate’s dress, she wore a deep blue Royal Victorian Order mantle edged in scarlet. She added to this ensemble with a pair of earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana , and the George VI Festoon Necklace , which was a gift from King George VI to his daughter Queen (then Princess) Elizabeth in 1950.
Instead of a tiara, Kate opted for a 3D leaf embroidery headpiece by milliner Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen which was made from silver bullion, finished with silver thread work and features crystal detailing.
Kate's mini-me, Charlotte, wore a very similar headpiece which was also designed by Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen.
Kate has had a close relationship with the house of Alexander McQueen for more than a decade ever since she arrived at her iconic wedding day in a stunning lace wedding dress by Sarah Burton.
In the years that followed, Kate has chosen to wear clothes by the designer on many special occasions, including her children's christening and during her official 40th birthday photos by a Vogue photographer.
While Kate and Charlotte wore traditional coronation dresses, other royals including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie did not.
Beatrice wore a vibrant pink midi dress, featuring statement puff sleeves, while her sister donned a navy dress and coat.
