As to why the YouTube personality decides to share her struggle with her followers, the 20-year-old star reveals that ‘it’s time for me to address my weight gain and hold myself accountable.’

AceShowbizJazz Jennings is opening up about her body. Taking to her Instagram account on Friday, June 18, the YouTube personality detailed her binge-eating disorder and how much weight she’s gained in recent months due to the disease.

“As many of you have noticed, over the past few years, I have gained a substantial amount of weight. I suffer from binge-eating disorder, a disease in which I’m not only addicted to food, but I eat it in large quantities,” Jazz wrote alongside side-by-side comparison photos of herself. “My binging, along with an increased appetite I experience from some of the meds I’m on, has caused me to gain almost 100 pounds in a little less than 2 years.”

As to why she decided to share this with her followers, Jazz admitted that “it’s time for me to address my weight gain and hold myself accountable.” The “I Am Jazz: More Jazz” star also claimed that she’s now “ready to change my ways; I’ve been saying I’m ready to turn over a new leaf, but I’m running out of trees now. I’m ready to take the initiative and create positive changes when it comes to my health and body.”

Jazz acknowledged that in order to overcome the disorder, she couldn’t rely on someone else but herself. “I have a fabulous team supporting me, both professionals and family/friends, but at the end of the day, I have to be the one committed toward bettering myself,” she explained. She went on to say, “I know I have the power in me to lose the weight, and I intend on sharing my progress with all of you. Love you all, and thanks for understanding the battle I’m fighting to win.”

Her brother Sander Jennings showed support to the star in the comment section. “You are so resilient and can do anything you put your mind too. [sic] I believe in you and will be by your side every step of the way,” so he wrote, to which Jazz replied, “You’re my teammate.”

Also sending love to Jazz were her fans and followers. “You got this, buddy!! Proud of you for sharing your journey and lifting others along the way,” one person said. Another fan penned, “Sending you so much love and strength girl! Eating disorders are so incredibly hard to overcome but you can do it!! I’m so happy you feel supported in the fight.”
