Janette Manrara discusses changes to her Christmas plans
Strictly Come Dancing professional Janette Manrara, 37, had planned spend time with her family in Miami over the festive period, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and travel restrictions, she is no longer able to go. It comes just days after Prime Minister Boris Johnson introduced Tier 4 in many areas across England.
In view of her 417,000 followers, the dancer shared a video to discuss her cancelled plans and the ongoing pandemic, which has affected many people’s plans across the globe.
“I just wanted to come on and say that, unfortunately, I won’t be spending Christmas with my family this year,” she began.
“Like so many of us, we’ve had to change our plans and not see loved ones because of what’s going on in the world right now.
“I also wanted to share my thoughts on it because I think, sometimes, in the darkest and most scariest of places, sometimes shines the brightest of lights at the end of it.

“None of this is permanent, none of this is forever, all of it is temporary.”
She added: “We will come out of this on the other side, just got to get through this very strange holiday period.”
The Strictly pro went on to say her “light at the end of the tunnel” was being able to spend time with her husband Aljaž Škorjanec.
“We can keep each other company,” she continued.
“And, we can connect through socials, so I just want to send all my love to anyone who has had to change their plans and won’t be with loved ones.
“And just to say I’m here, we’re all here and we’re in it together. We’re in it as a team.”
Yesterday, the dancer gave fans an insight into her reunion with husband Aljaz.
The pair, who are both dancers on Strictly Come Dancing, had been kept apart for almost two months due to new safety rules while competing on the show.
In order for the BBC show to go ahead during the pandemic, dancing duos had to form their own bubble and were not allowed to mix with anyone else.
This meant, despite the pair being married and living together, they were forced to stay apart and couldn’t have close contact in the studio.
Janette made it to her first final in eight years on the show last weekend with singer and dance partner HRVY.
Despite being one of the high-scoring favourite couples throughout the series, they missed out on the Glitterball trophy to Bill Bailey and reigning champion Oti Mabuse.
