Former Strictly Come Dancing stars James Jordan, 42, and his wife Ola Jordan, 37, often share insights into their home. The Dancing On Ice winner was delighted to become a dad for the first time as he welcomed his daughter Ella into the world back in February.

However, the professional dancer has revealed it has not been easy after he admitted their five-month-old baby has made a surprising discovery.

Ella has recently realised that she doesn’t need to wait for James and Ola to wake up properly in order to get their attention, according to the pair.

“What I’ve noticed is that at seven o’clock in the morning this week, no matter what we do, she wants to get up,” James explains. “She wants to go downstairs and have food.”

“Before, we could put a dummy in and get an extra hour of sleep, but now it’s seven o’clock on the dot.”

He continued: “We’re not complaining because she does sleep really well, but now we’re going downstairs with her.”

His wife Ola agreed as she revealed that the couple struggled to get Ella to sleep after she had a “meltdown”.

“She didn’t want a dummy but if we give her a little more food, she’ll feel soothed and go to sleep,” Ola continued to HELLO! magazine in the couple’s latest column.

“She had a meltdown for about half an hour.”

James explained that they both attempted to try and soothe their bundle of joy as she was “really crying”.

He said: “We both tried. I went up, then Ola went up, then I went up.

“You don’t want to talk to them too much, but it got to the point where she was really crying so I thought we should give her a bit more food. “

James added: “She needed that extra bit more of milk and she was fast asleep!”

The former Strictly star has previously opened up about his other half’s struggles to conceive.

The small-screen star confessed the couple went through a “really stressful time” and added he would have been “devastated” if they “missed the boat”.

Opening up about their fertility issues, James explained it resulted in Ola undergoing IVF treatment to conceive Ella.

“It’s a long process, a big waiting game and a really stressful time. We were mega-fortunate that it happened for the first time,” James told The Sun when discussing their IVF battle.

Elsewhere, the professional dancer admitted he suffered a shock following a sudden downpour amid the current heatwave in the UK today.

Taking to Twitter, James wrote: “Thunder and lightning so bad here at one point it felt like it hit our house.”

Fans flocked to comment on the post, as one person said: “We had a bad storm last night, thunder that we actually felt in the house, I s*** myself.”

Another person commented: “Feel free to send it to the Midlands. We love a good storm.”
