Phillip Schofield walks off This Morning after Holly blunder
Holly Willoughby told Lorraine Kelly back in 2021 that she and Phillip Schofield “love each other” and credited him for being a major support in both her personal and professional life.
While promoting her book, Reflections, the 42-year-old gushed: “He’s been a huge support for me right from the very beginning, in the friendship sense but also within my career.
“He has guided and moulded me from the very beginning. I sat beside him and he’s been like my teacher; and not many people do that, they’re very focused in their own lane.
“He’s always been very generous. He’s been my champion since the get-go so I’ve been very lucky.”
Now, the co-presenters are reportedly “not as close as they once were”.
In an unexpected turn of events, Phillip responded to claims of a growing rift on Thursday, admitting that “these last few weeks haven’t been easy”.
He said in a statement to The Sun: “As I have said before, Holly is my rock. We’re the best of friends – as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.
“Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her.
“The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us. My family went through a real ordeal, and Holly’s support throughout meant the world to me…And of course Holly has herself been ill with shingles.

Phil had taken time off from This Morning as his brother, Timothy, 54, was convicted of child sex offences.
MailOnline has now claimed that Holly was “deeply upset” over allegedly being kept in the dark about the trial.
A source told the publication: “Holly had to find out from someone else which must have been awful for her. She has been so loyal to him.
“It has been upsetting for her, they have been pretty inseparable for 14 years…But now their once super close friendship is no longer.”
Express.co.uk has contacted Holly’s representatives for comment.
Holly and Phil first worked together on Dancing on Ice in 2006. He then pushed for her to replace Fern Britton on This Morning three years later.
Together, they have enjoyed great success, including winning 12 National Television Awards.
But recent events, including being accused of queue-jumping at the Queen’s lying in state, have made for a tough year.
