Gordon Ramsay has continued to ignore criticism after laying off 500 employees, now sharing a throwback of himself and his pals Gino D’Acampo, and Fred Sirieix.
The celebrity chef has come under fire after being accused of treating his staff ‘like s**t’ amid the coronavirus pandemic, summoning them to a meeting where they learned their contracts would be terminated.
Taking to Twitter, the 53-year-old shared a clip from his show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip, with the three of them diving into the sea with the Italian chef removing his pants to skinny dip.
Gordon wrote: ‘#tbt to my last holiday with the Three Amigos (@[email protected])…next week’s #GordonGinoandFred is a whole different beast ! And Italia ti amo…stay strong.’
The comments are filled with followers asking him to address the controversy, with one saying: ‘Why u firing staff rather than paying them.’
‘Pay your staff,’ another demanded, while one more told him: ‘I so hope it isnt true that you have laid of 500 of your staff????’
After the dad-of-five – who is thought to be worth around £140million – failed to guarantee they would retain their jobs when the restrictions lift, chef de partie Anca-Cosmina Toropu revealed that staff members haven’t heard a word from Gordon since they were let go.
‘People were sad and disappointed,’ she told Metro.co.uk. ‘Gordon was not there [at the meeting].
‘If he would have been there, that would have changed the situation. He would have shown that he cares, but that did [not] happen.
‘He just sent one of his directors who was affected (emotionally) by the situation as well.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Gordon for comment.
