Fern Britton, 62, tweeted that she could not wait for new BBC show A Suitable Boy to begin airing as it will show one of her favourite countries, India. The former This Morning presenter went on to confess she had an attraction for “men in turbans” as she finds them to be “so dashing.”

Fern wrote: “I am really looking forward to #ASuitableBoy starting on @BBCONE tomorrow.

“I love India and have always wanted a beautiful sari and I have a soft spot for men in turbans.

“So dashing,” she added.

The star’s admission came after she had announced back in January this year that she had split from husband Phil Vickery, 59.

Though it does not seem as though Fern is short of admirers, as one enthusiastic fan replied to her tweet with a selfie of himself.

He captioned the cheeky photo: “Sorry haven’t got a turban!”

While another follower responded: “You would look stunning in a sari…loads of online sites!”

A third commented: “Maybe now is the time to buy a beautiful sari. What are you waiting for!”

Fern and Phil were married for nearly two decades before they decided to separate.

The couple’s relationship came to an end after they realised they were on different paths.

The star told Woman & Home magazine: “We simply needed to follow our own paths. Over time we realised we weren’t necessarily having the kind of life we once did.

“It seemed right to say ‘thank you’ and move on.

“Life has changed for me in the last ten years, especially with my career. So it’s lovely to think I can just concentrate on writing, the kids and getting on with life.

She added: “This feels quite comfortable, and Phil and I knew it was the right thing to do.”

The couple married back in 2000 and met on the set of BBC Two’s Ready Steady Cook.
