Ariana Grande was perhaps too busy with the MTV VMAs to notice that she’s smashed a whole Instagram record.
The Thank U, Next singer quietly became the first woman to reach 200 million followers on Instagram over the weekend.
It means she’s more popular than the likes of Kylie Jenner who currently has 193 million followers and Selena Gomez with 190 million. Other popular female celebrities on the app include Kim Kardashian with 187 million followers, Beyonce with 153 million and Taylor Swift with 140 million followers.
Some of Ari’s recent posts feature the pop star taking a bathroom selfie while wearing a jewelled face mask and photos of her sporting two high ponytails.
On Sunday, the 7 Rings singer shared a post about her anticipated performance with Lady Gaga at the MTV Video Music Awards and wrote: ‘Happy VMA day ::) so excited for u see our first rain on me performance tonight !
