Ant McPartlin may be worth over £50 million, but that doesn’t mean his bric—brac items are any different than the average Brit’s.
The TV presenter’s ex-wife Lisa Armstrong dumped unwanted items from their former marital home outside her gate, and the selection of freebies was extremely relatable – it was basically reading like a what’s what of post-Christmas car boot sales.
Pictures taken from outside Lisa’s West London home showed passers-by rifling through boxes of unwanted board games and books, which sat beneath a sign saying ‘free – please help yourself’.
Ant, 44, is believed to have taken what he wanted from the clearout and arranged for it to be collected – and a lot of celebrity books were among the stuff he deemed unworthy.
In the boxes were Piers Morgan’s The Insider and Craig Revel Horwood’s Tales from the Dance Floor, as well as Everyday Superfood by Jamie Oliver and The Chase: The Greatest Chases.
That’s a lot of ITV colleagues in the trash….
Piers expressed his hurt on Good Morning Britain today, saying: ‘That’s my book, lying in the stree this morning. Lisa, have the common decency… at least put it somehwere where some newspaper can’t photograph it lying in the street.’
But the journalist was in good company, as there was also the novel Evelyn by Evelyn Doyle, a book called How To Speak Dog, a recipe book called the Little Black Book of Classic Cocktails, a Banksy calendar, and even a dog bowl from their pooch Hurley’s collection.
People were seen carrying away boxes, while some even snapped up some of Ant’s personal things.
A source told The Sun: ‘What was left is being offered for free. His bathrobe has been taken. Footie memorabilia has also been given away. But it was the end for his Newcastle shirts.
‘Some of it is Ant’s, some of it is Lisa’s and some of it they bought together.’
Ant and Lisa got married in 2006 and remained married for 11 years until 2018, when they announced they were separating.
Make-up artist Lisa, 43, kept their formerly marital home, as Ant moved on with girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett – his former personal assistant.
Lisa’s big clearout comes as she makes further strides in her career, as she is launching a new collection with Avon.
A spokesperson said: ‘Lisa’s partnership with Avon is the exciting co-creation of her new professional make-up collection following Lisa’s 20 years in the beauty industry.
‘Lisa’s lipsticks are named after close friends that are independent women who have supported and inspired her.’
Armstrong, who also appeared on the BBC series Glow-Up, is expected to return as make-up artist on Strictly Come Dancing this year, while her ex-husband is back on our screens for the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
