AJ Pritchard has revealed his girlfriend Abbie Quiennen is called “super Abbie” by doctors as she recovers from third degree burns.

Abbie, 23, has undergone three skin grafts and had more than 20 hospital visits after a horrific accident earlier this year.

Abbie and AJ, who recently broke their silence after the terror incident, were filming a hack for a social media video before it went wrong and AJ’s girlfriend’s hair and clothes caught fire.

The dancer has been in recovery for seven weeks since the horrific accident.

Now, after news of the terrifying incident broke, AJ and brother Curtis Pritchard have spoken out about the accident and Abbie’s recovery.

Speaking on Tuesday 23 March’s episode of This Morning, former Strictly Come Dancing star AJ told viewers: “She has had skin grafts and they've been fantastic surgeons and have done an amazing job.

“Regarding moving forward with her recovery, the doctors talk to us but they don't know. She's healing fantastically, they call her 'super Abbie' because her skin's doing amazing.

“We feed her the best food.“

As the brothers appeared on the ITV show, viewers wished Abbie a speedy recovery, who friends say has gone through hell and back.

One said: “Hope she gets better soon. But have to say that it was a irresponsible thing to do & hopefully people will understand how dangerous these things are.”

As another wrote: “Everyone makes stupid mistakes. At least AJ and his girlfriend are doing the right thing and warning others against it. #ThisMorning”.

While a third said: “@thismorning sending love to AJ and his girlfriend! What a horrible accident glad she's getting better” alongside a red heart emoji.

Love Island star Curtis appeared alongside his brother AJ during the interview and explained what he saw.

He told viewers: “I was upstairs and I knew they were creating this video and I heard the fire alarm go off and I came downstairs and I remember opening the door and there was glass on the floor.

“The door was slightly jammed and I saw AJ and I said: ‘Is everything alright?’ And he said ‘no’ and I knew straight away that something had happened – I didn’t know what at the time.

“So I quickly put my shoes on and I came straight in and AJ had done everything he possibly could do, he was on the phone, he was trying to call 111, trying to get through to everybody.

“And we decided straight away, Abbie was sat down, and were both very calm but in shock. And we just decided we’ve got to get her to hospital so I drove them straight to hospital.”
