A Day To Remember Share Animated ‘Mindreader’ Video

A Day To Remember have shared an animated music video for “Mindreader,” a song likely to appear on the band’s upcoming album, You’re Welcome, due later in the year.

“We’ve had this video done for some time now, and seeing as how our album isn’t out yet and the state of the world is keeping us off the road, we wanted to get some new material out there for our fans as soon as possible,” the band’s frontman Jeremy McKinnon said,

“This song was one of my personal favorites off the new album from the day it was written. I wrote it with the incredibly talented Mike Green. Fun fact, it was the first song I’ve ever sent the guys in the band that was unanimously loved,” McKinnon elaborated. “This song was written to be a lighthearted take on people in relationships expecting their partners to read their minds.”

The animation of the “Mindreader” clip was down by Awesome, Inc., who created “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” and “Squidbillies.”

“Mindreader” was supposed to come out several months ago. The band’s guitarist Kevin Skaff told the WSOU radio station last year that the song was very close to being finished.

“It got pushed back because the art for the record isn’t done yet,” he said in November. “We still can’t find a good cover for the record. I know it doesn’t really matter nowadays, with streaming and everything, but we just everything to be perfect before it comes out.”

“And there are still a couple of songs that are still getting mixed that we just need to find the right mixer,” Skaff added. “It’s only getting pushed back — what? — two [or] two and a half months, so it’s not too bad. It’s not like a Kanye [West] thing where it’s never gonna come out.”

The band earlier released “Degenerates” and “Resentment” from the album.
