New Corrie trailer reveals Yasmeen's fate, Geoff's threat & Sally's discovery

Coronation Street has been unmissable telly as of late, and — if that brand new trailer is anything to go by — then things are set to heat up even more next month!

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is currently on remand for attacking Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Barthlomew), and Alya (Sair Khan) is determined to do whatever she can to prove her gran is the victim of abuse — something which we see she attempts to convince her of during the trailer.

As things heat up — and shocking revelations come to light — the day of Yasmeen’s trial arrives, and everyone awaits to hear her plea. Will she plead guilty, or not guilty?

Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) and Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) discuss their previous relationship — and it becomes clear that the chemistry is still very much apparent between the two. Will they begin a shock affair? Or will Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) want Seb back?

Elsewhere, Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) is seemingly rescued by Roy after her vanishing act during the previous episode, and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) is convinced that having her back on the cobbles will jog her memory.

Yes, if you thought May was an explosive month on the cobbles, then June is no doubt going to take things to a whole new level, and you’re not going to want to miss a single second!

Coronation Street continues Monday 1 June at 7:30pm on ITV.

Who Is 'Blue Bloods' Actress Sami Gayle?

Young actress Sami Gayle literally grew up in the limelight of network television. Gayle was born January 22, 1996, to Larry and Robin Klitzman in Weston, Florida. Her father works as an attorney, and her mother owns her own business and acts as her manager.

Gayle started her acting career in 2009 on the daytime soap opera, As the World Turns. She played the character, Hayden Lawson, on three episodes.

Then at just the age of 14, she landed her first big gig on CBS’ Blue Bloods. For the last decade, Gayle has portrayed the role of Nicky Reagan-Boyle and has remained a staple on the series since the show’s start in 2010.

Gayle has already achieved so much in her 24-years of life. Along with being a successful actress on network television — Blue Bloods — she now has a college degree and released her own indie film with her brother in 2018. But what’s next for this budding young actress?

Growing up on ‘Blue Bloods’

RELATED: Is ‘Blue Bloods’ Star Sami Gayle Single?

Gayle has portrayed her Blue Bloods’ character for over a decade now. Her character, Nicky, is the granddaughter of the show’s family patriarch, Frank Reagan.

Tom Selleck portrays the role of NYPD Police Commissioner Frank Reagan on the show. Blue Blood  fans have come to love the Reagan family. A family made up of New York City’s finest. Growing up in a family of cops, fans of the show have witnessed Nicky’s desire to pursue the family business from a very young age.

While Nicky is a staple in the Reagan family, many fans just aren’t that fond of Nicky’s character. Along with making the liberal position look dumb, many fans also state that Nicky’s character is just an annoying know-it-all.

Of course, not all fans feel this way about the character. Some fans may have even been sad to watch when Nicky’s character announced she would be moving to San Francisco in a recent episode of Blue Bloods.

There’s been no official statement if this is the end of Nicky’s character on the show or if Sami will continue to make a recurring appearance despite the character’s move to California. Only time will tell what the future holds for Gayle.

Will Sami Gayle be pursuing a career in the film industry?

At this time, Gayle’s future looks uncertain on Blue Bloods, but that certainly doesn’t mean her acting career is over. Along with starring in the indie film Candy Jar, written by her brother Chad Klitzman, the actress has appeared in six other films since 2011.

Her first film role was as Erica in the 2011 film, Detachment. Gayle also made appearances in the films StolenThe CongressHateship, LoveshipVampire Academy, and Noah.

Gayle was able to film her scenes for these films during breaks from Blue Bloods. Now that she has finished college and maybe leaving Blue Bloods for the foreseeable future, her film career might just pick up again.

What’s next for Sami Gayle?

With so much undetermined when it comes to Gayle’s character’s role in upcoming seasons of Blue Bloods, it has fans questioning what’s next for the talented actress? It is no surprise that fans who have watched Gayle grow up before their very eyes are curious about what her next move will be.

Lucky for her, she does not suffer from a lack of talent. Whether she stays on network television, pursues a film career, or chooses a new route altogether, she has already built herself a strong foundation to build upon. With a resume like hers, the opportunities awaiting Gayle are truly endless.

Coronation Street is building a second pub on the set – and it’ll look exactly like the Rovers Return – The Sun

CORONATION Street bosses have been given the green light to build another Rovers Return for visitors of their popular studio tours.

They have been approved to build a second pub on their iconic set as part of their plans to improve the attraction – just weeks after cutting admission prices in a bid to boost visitors.

Fans had previously complained that the tour offered poor value for money, with the experience also beginning hundreds of yards away from the studios.

Now the set tours are being enhanced with plans to add a new visitor centre at the ITV studios.

The Sun Online can reveal that a planning application submitted for a three-storey Coronation Street Experience building on the main studio complex has just been given permission by Trafford Council.

It will include a dedicated entrance for soap fans coming to see the set, as well as a separate Corrie and ITV gift shop accessed through a replica Rovers Return frontage.

The ground floor will also house a cafe bar, with proposed opening hours from 8am to 11.30pm, and a 70-seat auditorium where studio tour introductions will take place.

An open plan exhibition space displaying sets from the soap, along with other ITV show memorabilia, will occupy part of the first floor.

It will also feature a multi-purpose projection room, the plans reveal.

The second floor will house conference facilities and a roof terrace covered with a canopy.

And rear of the building will have a changeable backdrop that can be used for Coronation Street filming.

The studios opened up for tours in 2018 after the closure of the visitor attraction at the old Quay Street set.

Guests can walk down the famous cobbles and see landmarks including the Rovers Return Inn, The Kabin and Roy's Rolls as well as the recent Victoria Street expansion, which includes new shops, a police station and the Weatherfield North tram station.

But there have not yet been any dedicated visitor facilities on the working production lot.

Tour guests currently meet their guide at The Studios at dock 10, MediaCityUK, before walking over to the site.

The 90-minute tours are available on selected weekend days between 10am and 4pm when filming is not taking place.

The admission price has gone down from £35 to £32 after complaints about value for money, and tour guides have been warned to make sure that the experience lasts the full advertised 90 minutes.

Is Yasmeen leaving Coronation Street as she pleads guilty to attacking Geoff?

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) has been though a terrible ordeal at the hands of her abusive husband Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew), and it isn’t over yet.

Yasmeen was pushed to the breaking point by her cruel husband’s vicious words and threats.

In harrowing scenes, as Geoff threatened her life – she eventually snapped and hit him over the head with a wine bottle before jabbing him in the neck with the pointy end.

Geoff survived, however, and how Yasmeen is facing criminal charges for the attack. Could she actually end up going to jail for fighting back?

Is Yasmeen leaving Corrie?

It’s not yet known for sure whether or not Yasmeen could end up leaving Coronation Street for good at the end of this storyline.

However the cracks have started to appear in Geoff’s false facade as a loving husband, which could be a sign that Yasmeen could finally be ready to accept that she was the victim of abuse.

Even though Yasmeen will insist that she’s going to plead guilty in court, she’ll also tell Alya that Geoff was seeing sex workers.

Tim will be shocked, Sally will be disgusted and Geoff will be unable to talk his way out of that transgression.

Indeed, Geoff’s exit has been confirmed, with actor Ian Bartholomew telling ‘The timelines have been shunted due to the lockdown but I think it’s fair to imagine that it will be this year. What form that comeuppance is is in discussion. We wanted a redemptive ending for Yasmeen obviously and the toughest it’s going to get for her is over the next months.

‘It’s towards the end of the year but the key thing is to impart the right message. For the sake of the people it has impacted we have to tell the right ending with some positivity.’

Could this mean that Yasmeen will emerge victorious in the end?

Is there a chance she’ll still want to take her leave of the cobbles and all the horrible memories of what’s happened to her there? You’ll have to tune in to find out…

Coronation Street is next on tonight at 7:30pm on ITV.

Alex Acosta: Where is Alexander Acosta now?

Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich is the four-part Netflix documentary series focusing on the late US financial worker. Over the course of four episodes, the series analyses the allegations against Jeffrey Epstein and hears from his accusers. The series looks at all aspects of Epstein’s life including a controversial plea deal he made which saw him doing minimal time behind bars.

Where is Alex Acosta now?

In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution.

However, he avoided a federal sentence which potentially could have seen facing life in jail, according to BBC News.

His legal team managed to get him a deal which resulted in an 18-month jail sentence. During this period, he was allowed out on “work release” 12 hours a day, six days a week.

Epstein was released after only 13 months and put on probation.

  • Jeffrey Epstein Netflix documentary: What’s the 5th amendment right?

The whole deal was overseen by Alex Acosta who at the time was the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.

Many viewers have been wondering about Acosta and what happened to him after his involvement in the Epstein case.

Acosta had worked for the Southern District of Florida since 2005, according to publication PC Palm.

Following the case, Acosta left his position as a prosecutor and was appointed the dean of Florida’s International University’s law school in 2009.

In 2018, President Donald Trump appointed Acosta as his new Labor Secretary.

However, only a year later in 2019, Acosta stepped down from his position amid scrutiny for his role in the Epstein case.

His resignation came after Epstein was arrested in July 2019 for new sex trafficking charges.

Acosta told reporters after stepping down: “I do not think it is right and fair… to have Epstein as the focus rather than the incredible economy that we have today”.

He added: “It would be selfish for me to stay in this position and continue talking about a case that’s 12 years old.”

When asked whether he had any regrets, Acosta, as reported by The Guardian, said: “We now have 12 years of knowledge and hindsight and we live in a very different world.

“Today’s world treats victims very, very differently.”

Acosta added: “Now that new evidence and additional testimony is available, the NY prosecution offers an important opportunity to more fully bring him to justice.”

  • Sarah Ransome: When did she meet Jeffrey Epstein?

President Trump said the resignation had been Acosta’s decision not his.

Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich is critical of the plea deal approved by Acosta, however, the documentary’s director Lisa Bryant told Entertainment Weekly: “I think Epstein’s team of powerful attorneys were more influential.

“I think that the way that they picked apart the credibility of these young underage girls and called them prostitutes is absolutely hideous. And that is unfortunately what happened in that case.

“Alex Acosta did have the power to probably do something, but [the deal] did go through multiple levels of government. So I think it wasn’t just Alex Acosta’s sole decision. It certainly went through higher ranks, and it just goes to show the reach of Epstein’s power and wealth.

“This is a classic example of the rich and powerful and how our American system was really built for power and political gain. And our officials really have to do their jobs and not give the wealthy a free pass, whether they’re influenced by the most high-powered attorneys in our nation. I think there was a lot of intimidation going on in this story.”

A title card in the documentary reads: “Alexander Acosta has maintained his actions in the Epstein case were appropriate.”

A further title card from Acosta reads: “Alexander Acosta has justified the plea deal stating it guaranteed Epstein served jail time.”

Agents of SHIELD bosses tease epic MCU crossover and spin-off plans

AGENTS of SHIELD bosses have teased an epic MCU crossover and spin-off plans.

The Marvel series' final season has just premiered with a dramatic time-travelling episode.

And bosses have told fans they can expect plenty of big moments, shocks and surprises in the last series, as well as teasing at a potential Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover.

When asked by Deadline if the show would "bump into more of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this final season", writer Jed Whedon teased: "We're going to bump into something."

Meanwhile showrunner Jeffrey Bell replied: "Something will definitely happen."

While their comments don't totally confirm that the series will tie into the Marvel movies, they have certainly left fans intrigued.

The men also spoke to Deadline about a potential spin-off series, especially after Disney+ confirmed SWORD – SHIELD's space-based counterpart – will appear in Marvel series WandaVision.

Rumours also abound that Disney is working on a Secret Warriors series, which SHIELD fans will know was a team devised by Chloe Bennet's character Daisy in season three.

When asked if SHIELD was "truly over", Jeph Loeb replied: "Is anything ever really over nowadays?"

Jeffrey added: "Those issues are way above our pay grade, you know, and so with the new Disney+ and with all the restructuring that Disney is doing with ABC and Marvel, those kinds of questions really are above what we have any say in."

Jeffrey previously revealed the final season is full of 'big drama and good conflict'.

In the first episode, the team travel back in time to 1931, where they face the horrifying realisation that, to save SHIELD they also need to save Hydra.

Jeffrey said: " "It creates good conflict for our characters. It’s big drama, and that’s how we landed on that."

Johnny 'Bananas' Devenanzio Shared that He Was 'Powerless' Against Sonja Morgan from 'RHONY' On 'Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition'

Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio from The Challenge revealed that he was no match for Sonja Morgan from The Real Housewives of New York City when the two appeared on Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition.

Morgan is known for being a next-level flirt. But Devenanzio told Showbiz Cheat Sheet had no idea what was coming his way. “You know that song, ‘Maneater?’ She’s a maneater!” he joked.

“Usually I’m pretty good at fending off [excessive flirting],” Devenanzio said. “Like I’m pretty good at playing back. But I was powerless. I didn’t know what to do. I was like, ‘Sonja if you are going to eat me alive, just let me call my parents first!’”

Devenanzio says Morgan brought a lot of fun to the show

Although Morgan went in hard for Devenanzio, he said her playfulness made the show a lot of fun.

“Honestly she is one of the most dynamic, just like unique, off the wall, wacky personalities I’ve ever met,” he laughed. “Love her to death. So glad I got to meet her, so glad I got to be on the show with her.”

He says when you are on the show, you are completely focused on what you are cooking. “And you’re over there in your zone. Watching this back I get to now see a different perspective. She is so funny.”

He said they hit it off right away

Both Morgan and Devenanzio like to tap into their comedic side for their own shows. So having comedy in common made it an instant match. “Me and Sonja hit it off like right away,” he said. “I could tell right out of the gate that me and her were going to be the troublemakers.”

“And you can sense that right out of the gate she was going to go against the grain as well,” he recalled. “You just kind of gravitate toward people who you kind of vibe with and immediately Sonja and me were two peas in a pod.”

The duo team up for an elimination challenge that doesn’t go well for Morgan. Although they gave it their all, Morgan was sent home with $2,500 that she donated to her favorite charity.

She left the judges speechless

Judges Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence seemed to have just as much fun with Morgan too. Morgan tweeted a clip from an episode where she attempts to make ceviche. She hacks away at an onion, almost slicing her hand as she grabs the bottom of the vegetable. But she insists in a confessional that ceviche is just a “fish salad and I’m very good at salads.”

She is chopping and jumping all over the place, which leaves the judges laughing. “Sonja, I mean …,” Burrell tries to talk about Morgan in a confessional. She ends up laughing and shaking her head.

At the time, Florence still seemed optimistic about Morgan’s chances to take the competition. “She’s got what it takes to go all the way to the finale,” he says.
