FORGET Jack-o-lanterns, crafty mums have come up with a stylish new way to use pumpkins this Halloween.
Rather than carving the gourds, the DIY savvy are transforming them into vases to make chic autumnal flower displays.
Taking to Facebook group Extreme Couponing & Bargains UK, one mum shared snaps of her impressive bouquet that she had made as a tribute to her son.
Captioning her post, she wrote: “I brought a pumpkin, thought what could I do, watched a video on YouTube and thought I could do this .
“Brought the oasis etc the flowers from Asda total cost £10 and it was to go on my son's grave and this was my first attempt so didn’t thing I done a bad job.”
Fellow group members were seriously impressed with her handiwork with several others posting their own attempts.
One mum revealed how she had brought the “autumnal colours indoors” and recommended placing a small glass of water inside the pumpkin to keep the blooms fresh.
Meanwhile another made an attractive pot for her peach coloured roses using the gourd, with the entire thing costing her just £4.
Others offered up their own twists on the arrangements with one mum selecting a white pumpkin and filling it with pampas grass while another added Chinese maple leaves.
Commenting on the original post one said: “This is stunning well done xx it looks like something out of the magazine’s.”
Agreeing, another added: “Gorgeous, you should be very proud.”
“That looks beautiful I am sure that others will copy it” commented a third.
